McKinney City Council is trying to decide what to do about a Confederate monument. The statue of James Throckmorton is on the grounds of the Old Collin County Courthouse. Throckmorton voted against state secession in 1861, but joined a Confederate cavalry regiment when the state seceded. After the war, he briefly served as governor of Texas.
